The central government on Monday banned 59 Chinese apps. The list of apps also includes Tick Talk and UC Browser. “We have 59 Chinese bans apps List which pose a threat to the unity and security of India,” the government said in a statement. Commenting on the decision, Shergat’s public policy director Berges Malu said the government was welcome to take action against platforms that pose a threat to privacy, cyber security and national security. We expect the government to continue its support for the Indian startup ecosystem.

The Maharashtra government had appealed to the Center to clarify its policies in the context of the campaign linked to China’s boycott. The MoU was signed with China’s Hangli Group, Great Wall Motors and PMI Electro Mobility Solutions. The Bihar government also announced on Sunday that the tender for the bridge to be built in Patna has been canceled. State Roads and Transport Minister Nandkishore Yadav informed this. Some Chinese partners were also among those who received tenders. It was therefore decided to cancel the tender.
