Old Age Support Scheme: Destitute Old Age Pension Scheme 2024 : Several assistance schemes have been implemented by the Government of Gujarat and the Central Government for various categories of people. Assistance is provided under various schemes for women, children and especially the elderly. Old Age Pension Sahai Yojana is also one such assistance scheme. Eligibility Standards
- Seniors aged 60 years or above can fill the form to avail the benefits of this scheme.
- BPL lists should have a score of 0 to 20. Even if no longer in the BPL list as per the new provision, they are still eligible for assistance under the scheme
Assistance received
Under this scheme, the beneficiary aged 60 to 79 years will get Rs. Rs. 1000/- and to the beneficiary aged 80 or above Rs. 1250/- assistance is paid.

- Proof of Age Age Certificate / School Leaving Certificate / Age Certificate issued by Doctor (any one of these)
- Certificate to the effect that the name is on the poverty line BPL list, if any.
- Copy of beneficiary’s Aadhaar card
- Copy of bank/post office account passbook

In order to get the benefit of the assistance under this scheme, an application can be submitted in person at the Jan Seva Kendra, Mamlatdar Office of the concerned District/Taluka along with the necessary documents. Eligibility Criteria
- Destitute elderly aged 60 years or above.
- He should not have a son of 21 years or above.
- In case of handicapped person having more than 75 percent disability and age limit of 45 years or more can fill the form.
- If the income limit is required, the annual income of the applicant in rural areas is Rs. 120000/- and urban area Rs. Should not exceed 150000/-
- Those who have been permanently residing in Gujarat for at least 10 years are eligible under this scheme.
- A couple / both above 60 years of age are eligible.
Amount of Old Age Pension Scheme Assistance
Senior citizens aged 60 to 79 years will get monthly Rs. 1000 assistance is provided. And to senior citizens above 80 years of age Rs. 1250 assistance is provided. Getting this help in old age gives a support to the elderly to manage their livelihood.
The amount of assistance under these schemes is directly deposited by DBT in the post office or bank account of the beneficiary.
