By-election results will also be monitored
Counting of votes will also take place for one Lok Sabha by-election in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh and by-elections to six assembly seats in five states. The seats whose by-election results will be closely watched by the country include Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat as well as Azamgarh assembly seat. Apart from these, the results of Khatauli assembly seat of UP, Padampur of Odisha, Sardarshahar of Rajasthan, Kurhani of Bihar and Bhanupratappur assembly seat of Chhattisgarh will also be declared.
How many voting seats are there in Gujarat?
Legislative Assembly election is scheduled to be held in Gujarat from 1 to 5 December 2022 in two phases, to elect 182 members of 15th Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 8 December 2022.
The BJP, which has ruled the state for 27 years, is seeking to win a straight seventh term. If it succeeds, it will equal the record of the Left Front government which had ruled in West Bengal for seven consecutive terms till 2011.

Besides its traditional foe the Congress, the BJP this time is facing a new adversary in the form of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which campaigned aggressively. Besides, 36 other parties including the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) are also in the fray. In the first phase, three villages boycotted the election: Dhrafa in Jamnagar district, Samot in Narmada and Kesar in Bharuch district. During the voting, 89 ballot units, 82 control units and 238 Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) were replaced due to technical glitches. A total of 26,269 ballot units, 25,430 control units and 25,430 VVPATs were used.
As many as 104 complaints were received, including six regarding malfunctioning of EVMs, two about bogus voting, 30 regarding law and order issues, 36 regarding violation of the Model Code of Conduct and 30 complaints about issues like slow voting, bogus voting and power cuts, the EC said. At Dhrafa village, the voters were apparently irked as there were no separate polling booths for men and women.
Possibility of voting in two phases
Voting can be held in two phases in Gujarat. The first phase of voting will be held on November 30. Then the second phase of polling will be held on December 4 and the result of this election is likely to be announced on December 6 or 7.

Gujarat assembly election date will be announced today
The Himachal Pradesh election results are scheduled to be declared on December 8. Voting is to be held there on 12th November. While the result is going to be declared after 24 days. So there are strong possibilities that the Election Commission will organize the assembly elections in Gujarat during these 24 days. Generally, the results are declared within three to four days after voting in the elections. The results of Himachal Pradesh elections are to be announced 24 days after the polling.
