GYANKUNJ PROJECT ANVAYE STD-7 TATHA 8 NA BALKO NE TABLET AAPVA BABAT.
Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani launched state-wide ‘Gyankunj Project’ on Teachers’ Day, today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government has made all the schemes, which were announced by it in its budget declared in February early this year, functional by the September-2017.
He said that the ‘Gyankunj Project’ prepared at the total expenditures of Rs. 35.85-crore is going to be implemented in 3173 class rooms of standard 7th and 8th of 1609 schools. The objective of the project is to produce world-class students. The project is launched at expenditure of Rs. 222,000/- per school.
Mr. Rupani exalted the confidence that this initiative of digital revolution will scale new height in the field of education in Gujarat and will also fulfill the Prime Minister’s pledge of the ‘Digital India.’
The ‘Gyankunj Project’ was launched by the Chief Minister from primary school of Shahpur in Gandhinagar. Others who remained present at the function included, Chief Secretary Dr. J.N.Singh, principal secretary (education) Mrs. Sunayna Tomar, GUDA chairman Mr. Ashish Dave and school community.
Mr. Rupani also visited the class rooms to review the virtual class-room learning and had dialogues with the students. With a view to enable the new generation students to take interest in the subjects like history, geography, and day-to-day happenings in the world, the state government has equipped them (students) with laptop, internet and tablet, he said.
In the first phase, 550 schools will be covered under the ‘Gyankunj Project’ and gradually standard 5th to 9th of every schools of the state will cover under the project.
Speaking on the occasion, state project director, Mr. Sandeep Kumar Singh said that through the initiative of the ‘Gyankunj Project’, Gujarat has shown a new path to the country. The Chief Minister has allocated sufficient fund for the project in the state budget of year 2017-18. As a result the project will be implemented in 1609 schools across Gujarat. Of them, the project has already been implemented in 508 schools of 12 districts.
On the occasion, the district administration had handed over a cheque of Rs. 36.80-lakh towards Chief Minister Relief Fund and Rs. 5-lakh cheque towards Kanya Kelavni Nidhi by the representative of RMC to the Chief Minister.
